Private Equity Firms Directory

Below please find the top questions that we receive each day. Review these but also feel free to Contact us.  To order a copy of the Private Equity Firms Directory or to learn more about this database please visit this website.
Question: How many unique private equity firms are included in the Private Equity Directory?
Answer: As of June 2010 there are 1,037 private equity firms included within our database.

Question: Where are the private equity firms from within your database located?
Answer: Approximately 70% of the private equity firms are US-based, 20% are based in Europe and the rest are based in other countries around the world.

Question: Does the database come in an Excel format? Could I view a sample of it?
Answer: The Private Equity Directory is offered in Excel form and there is an example on our website here.

Question: How do your directory packages work? How can I learn more about obtaining the package of venture capital, angel investor and private equity firm contact details?
Answer: We have created a thorough PDF which walks through what both of those databases are and we provide samples from each directory within this PDF. Please click here to access this PDF.

Question: Does your firm provide a refund if we can't raise assets through using this database of contacts?
Answer: No, while the data included in this database is publicly available our team spent hundreds of hours compiling, sorting and organizing it so that it may be easily used within almost any CRM system or as a standalone capital raising or career management tool. Once the database has been purchased and delivered the full value has been realized and we cannot provide a refund once the transaction has been completed, unless you find a few entries which are in error.

Question: Why does your firm only release 100 copies of each version of the Private Equity Directory? Isn't that bad for business?
Answer: Yes, it is bad for business over the short term, but we see it as a necessary evil in order for us to offer a valuable exclusive resource over the long-haul. By slowly releasing this resource to only 100 firms with each version we release the data becomes more valuable to our clients.

Question: What percentage of the private equity firms are based in Europe vs. the US?
Answer: Please see our statistics page of our website for this answer.

Morgan Stanley Hires In Japan to Build Private Equity

Morgan Stanley has hired Yoshihiko Shigenari to head the private equity unit in Japan. The New York Times notes that Japan is the second-largest economy, yet Morgan Stanley has not invested in the country since 2000 (buying eAccess Ltd). This move signifies Morgan Stanley's revamping of their private equity division and suggests greater investment in a market left largely untapped by the company.
